Withdraw Cash From The ATMs Using Only A Smartphone [Video]

Global technology company NCR has developed an app that would essentially allow users to withdraw cash from ATMs by only using their mobile phones. The wireless transaction is enabled through the use of a QR code. Users simply scan the barcode with their smartphone to initiate the transaction.
The seamless process works without the user having to insert their bankcard, or tap anything on the ATM screen. Everything is done through the app, which can be downloaded on iOS and Android devices. NCR hopes that the Mobile Cash Withdrawal system can be rolled out with selected partners later this year.

A lighting array designed by 3M and Todd Bracher was included in the Wanted Design installment at 2012 New York Design Week as it could light entire rooms with one LED through the reflective panels. The Virtual LED utilizes the convex shape covered with 98% reflective sheeting. The light is actually created through bouncing across an assortment of mirrors while it looks as if multiple LEDs are used.

Scentsory 2012 new mobile concept

Scentsory is a mobile communication device that works with the senses of smell, sight, hearing and touch, giving users the ability to experience remote communication on multi-sensory levels. With the development of Scentsory, remote interfacing will become more biologically natural. The future of mobile communication is ready to take part in rich, multi-layered, multi-sensory experiences. In addition to basic audiovisual features, Scentsory is able to detect, transmit and emit smells. It can also radiate colours, lighting, and temperature from the caller’s environment.

Smell, the most evocative of the senses, can unconsciously trigger entire memories, complete with deep-rooted associated emotions. The average human is able to recognise approximately 10,000 different odours. Over time, odour-memory remains as other recollections fade. People recall smells with 65% accuracy after a year, while visual recollection of photographs sinks to about 50% after only three months.Nanotechnology plays a key role in the development of this new device. Using highly sophisticated sensors, the electronic ?nose? samples the odour of the caller?s environs and transmits this to the recipient electronically. Scientists have found that a distinct genetic pattern is associated with every odour, so it is simply a matter of matching electrical harmonics with gene activity. This way, the perception of a smell by electrical stimulation could be technologically induced.

When the phone is in ?flat mode? (opened flat), the LED touchpad, two screens and stereo speakers for audiovisual calls are accessible. (Wireless ?earbuds? are available.) In ?open mode?, two screens with a hidden camera and stereo speakers, interior scent detectors, emitter and exterior temperature sensors are revealed. In ?closed mode?, the phone?s slim profile befits traditional voice calls. The LED screen on the lower folding surface alerts the user to incoming calls.

LG Display unveils newspaper-size flexible e-paper

LG Display has announced its development of a newspaper-size flexible e-paper. The 19-inch wide (250x400mm) flexible e-paper is almost as big as a page of A3 sized newspaper. The product is optimized for an e-newspaper and able to convey the feeling of reading an actual newspaper. Additionally, as the product measures 0.3 millimeters thin, the e-paper weighs just 130 grams despite its 19-inch size.

LG Display arranged TFT on metal foil rather than glass substrate, allowing the e-paper display to recover its original shape after being bent. The use of a metal foil substrate makes the e-paper both flexible and durable while maintaining display qualities. In particular, LG Display applied GIP (gate-in-panel) technology which integrates the gate driver IC onto the panel. This improves its flexibility by removing driver ICs which are attached to the side of panel and hinder the bending of the display.
CTO and executive VP of LG Display, In Jae Chung said, “Our development of the world’s largest flexible display has opened up a new market in the next-generation display sector of e-paper. As the e-paper market is growing at a rapid pace, LG Display will continue to deliver new value to customers and the market through industry-leading technologies and differentiated products.”
Meanwhile LG Display plans to launch mass production of an 11.5-inch flexible e-paper display in the first half of 2010.

LG Display cited DisplaySearch saying that the e-book market will grow from approximately US$370 million in 2009 to US$1.2 billion in 2011 and to US$1.73 billion in 2015.

New future Nokia Phone concept "Full Body" is TOUCHSCREEN

Nokia GEM Phone Concept Transforms Its Entire Body Into a Touchscreen

Nokia has released an innovative and futuristic phone concept called Nokia GEM phone. If you feel the display on the phone isn’t big enough, how bout turning the entire handset into a touchscreen? This is what Nokia GEM phone concept offers you. This futuristic phone was launched as part of the celebration of Nokia Research Center 25th anniversary. You can see that GEM has the ability to change its appearance from camera to phone based on the functionality selected by its user. In fact, this phone can display advertising messages on its back.

Jarkko Saunamäki, a senior design manager who led the team that invented GEM, explained that using this future mobile phone, user can launch any application and turn the mobile phone just like its active app. For example when you launch a camera app, Nokia GEM phone concept will automatically transform its body to look like a camera. The video animation from Nokia demonstrates how user can take a photo and transform the result to wrap around the whole device. There’s no need to buy phone casing every month, when you get bored with the old theme, you could just take a cool wallpaper photo and replace the exterior appearance of your Nokia GEM phone.

LG optimus 3D - Watch live sreaming 3D Movies, 3D youtube fast streaming videos without Glasses, capture Photos On the go....

Have you heard of a mobile phone with an ability to capture and view images in 3D?

If not, then here is it –

The LG Optimus 3D. Users can now be free from those bulky glasses that are worn especially worn while watching 3D movies at the theater. LG Optimus 3D is considered to be the world’s popular mobile phone with a capability of capturing as well as viewing images in 3D. Equipped with 2 camera lenses behind the handset, it works in such a way where the lenses capture two views of your favorite scene, which are then played simultaneously on its 3D screen. Here is where the real retreat starts with one eye watching the images captured by a single lens and the other eye seeing images captured by the second lens.
The LCD Optimus 3D screen is covered up with a polarizing transparent material similar to the one used in 3D cinema glasses. These materials help in separating those 2 sets of images over the screen and in turn divert them to the eye. The LG’s new 3D mobile phone is brilliantly designed with 3D video recording, thereby adding a fun dimension to people’s mini-movies.
